SHORTLISTED FOR HOUSE OF ILLUSTRATION COMPETITION!
I found out today that I have been short-listed for the House of Illustration’s Brave New World competition. Very pleased and flattered to be included in the top 25. The other entries are great too; you can see the other 24 illustrators here.

The Dangers of Being Late on Flickr.Via Flickr:
Editorial illustration about being late (which I am, quite a lot). Entered into the Picturing Time competition.
Quite pleased with how this turned out - took a bit longer than I thought it would; need to speed up!

Hermione Hammond Entry on Flickr.Via Flickr:
Haven’t done a tonal drawing in a long time but thought I should probably enter the Hermione Hammond Drawing Prize while I’m still a student.
I couldn’t find any good photos of mine to draw from (I need to start taking photos again). So I had a hunt around some old family photos and found this photo of me looking sulky and serious aged 5.

Brave New World: Binding Design on Flickr.Via Flickr:
Binding illustration for Brave New World by Aldous Huxley submitted to the House of Illustration competition.
I wanted to focus on the manufacturing of humanity with the criss-crossing conveyor belts. Bernard Marx sits to the left; dejected, an outsider in his own society. To the left John the Savage falls into the confusion of this ‘Brave New world’ trailing behind him his feathers and his past.
‘O brave new world that has such people in it.’
